Winter Weather….brrr
Wow! It is coldddd out. This storm that hit us only gave us some ice and sleet. I know some places got a lot of snow. Our power didn’t go out which was a blessing.
I can’t wait for spring to get here, because with spring comes tennis and sports! For all athletes who play sports or anybody who loves going outdoors, spring is a much welcomed season. BUT……while we wait for the birds to start chirping, the grass to turn green, and the flowers to pop out, there ARE some things to keep us contented inside!
1. Blogging! Blogging is a great way to keep up with friends, have fun while talking about anything and everything, AND to become a better writer! Pretty good deal to me.
2. For all those horse people out there, Young Rider Magazine (YR) is really cool. I used to ride horses a lot and subscribed to YR for two years. This magazine is super cool because every magazine I have gotten is clean, and they usually talk about western and English riding although the focus is more English. I did western riding, and I still enjoyed it! They also will sometimes include a horsey craft, which can ALSO be good for winter afternoons. You can either subscribe to YR, or sometimes they can be found at a store, like Tractor Supply Company.
3. Bible studies! I definitely recommend Elizabeth George’s, “Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman.” It is beautifully written, diving deep into what a Proverbs 31 woman is. I really enjoyed it, and I did it with a group of friends. This book can easily be found at Amazon.
4. Reading! If you looking for a book series that will pull you in, a good choice would be the Circle C Adventures and Circle C Milestones series written by Susan K. Marlow. I LOVE these books. She also has a blog where you can learn more about her, participate in contests, and much more. https://andicartersblog.com/
5,. Sugar scrub or soap making! I love DIY activities, especially making natural things. When I wanted to learn soap making, we were not sure if I was ready for the lye yet because it is highly dangerous. So I did some research and found something called Melt and Pour soup. It’s basically soap that is already made. All you have to do is melt it, add in scents, dyes and other ingredients, pour it in molds and let it harden. It won’t be as natural as making it from scratch, but it’s a great way to start, and it’s not so dangerous which is highly appreciated in my home! I am attaching a blog which I found really helpful. https://www.ouroilyhouse.com/ This blog also has some other DIY ideas, which could be fun to look into!
Thanks for reading this, and comment in if you have any other good indoor ideas!
