Scripture and Photo of the Week

Here’s my second Scripture and Photo of the Week! I have been keeping an eye out for good photo op’s the past week since I need them for my blog, and the wonderful handiwork of God is truly remarkable. He is definitely the ultimate painter of the universe.

“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
Psalm 8:3-4

Wow! What a powerful verse! When David wrote this, you can definitely tell he was in a humble state of mind. Let’s break down these verses a little farther:

The Work of His Fingers: The Lord is beautiful, and thus His work is beautiful. He is the magnificent painter and crafter of the world. He takes care to create and design every detail of His work. Just like an artist or a potter would watch every brush stroke he paints on his canvas, or how a potter would watch his hand placement to form a perfect pot. But the Lord does this in much more intricate detail with mankind. If the Lord takes so much great care in putting the clouds in the sky, telling the sun when to set and to rise, and adding color to the smallest insect on earth, how much more does the Lord take care to craft you, who is made in His image?

His Care for Human Beings: The Lord is amazing! Isn’t it crazy how the Lord, who created the sunset that I captured above, cares for us mere humans? But he does care for us, even to the point that he allowed us to mock Him and even kill Him. He did that so we could and can be right with God. It’s sad how many times we can get so puffed up with pride to the point that we think we are greater and wiser than God. These verses definitely puts us in our rightful place, reminding us that the Lord is much greater than any human being because He is the One that created us.
