Scripture and Photo of the Week

Image
Ok, this one is a little behind. Two weeks behind! So sorry about that. Hopefully this won’t be a regular occurrence! Last week I was down with the stomach virus, and this week has been busy with random things. I am feeling much better and nobody else in my family has gotten sick, so I am very grateful for that! The Lord is good! Alright! Without further ado, welcome to the newest Scripture and Photo of the Week!!  “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy   that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.   For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Matthew 7:13-14 Wide Gate:  The “wide gate” is referring to the life that many people choose here on earth. Many choose to live at ease, not concerned about spiritual matters and not giving a second thought to God. These people view themselves as their own god and just live for themselves. They tend to give great c...

Scripture and Photo of the Week

Image
Here’s my second Scripture and Photo of the Week! I have been keeping an eye out for good photo op’s the past week since I need them for my blog, and the wonderful handiwork of God is truly remarkable. He is definitely the ultimate painter of the universe.  “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” Psalm 8:3-4 Wow! What a powerful verse! When David wrote this, you can definitely tell he was in a humble state of mind. Let’s break down these verses a little farther: The Work of His Fingers: The Lord is beautiful, and thus His work is beautiful. He is the magnificent painter and crafter of the world. He takes care to create and design every detail of His work. Just like an artist or a potter would watch every brush stroke he paints on his canvas, or how a potter would watch his hand placement to form a perfect pot. But the Lord doe...

Scripture and Photo of the Week

Image
I am starting a new adventure on my blog called, “Scripture and Photo of the Week.” My friend helped create this idea since I wanted to do something on a weekly basis. She suggested I take a picture or find one on the internet, assign a Bible verse to it, and then further elaborate on the verse. So here goes! (Note: I will try to do this every week, but as we all know, life can get pretty hectic, so bear with me!) “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…” 2 Timothy 3:16 I love this verse! It beautifully describes the wonder of the Bible. The Bible is SO important in knowing how to live as followers of Christ. The purpose of this blog is to walk in truth, and the Bible plays a huge role in knowing how to do that. The Bible is definitely a gift from God. Additionally, the Bible helps us to discern right from wrong, what is true and what is not, and how to be men and women after God’s own heart. ...

Winter Weather….brrr

Wow! It is coldddd out. This storm that hit us only gave us some ice and sleet. I know some places got a lot of snow. Our power didn’t go out which was a blessing.  I can’t wait for spring to get here, because with spring comes tennis and sports! For all athletes who play sports or anybody who loves going outdoors, spring is a much welcomed season. BUT……while we wait for the birds to start chirping, the grass to turn green, and the flowers to pop out, there ARE some things to keep us contented inside! 1. Blogging! Blogging is a great way to keep up with friends, have fun while talking about anything and everything, AND to become a better writer! Pretty good deal to me.  2. For all those horse people out there, Young Rider Magazine (YR)  is really cool. I used to ride horses a lot and subscribed to YR for two years. This magazine is super cool because every magazine I have gotten is clean, and they usually talk about western and English riding although the focus is more En...

The Forgiveness of God

Image
Hey everyone! I am proud to announce that this is my first official blog post. Today, I want to talk about the forgiveness of God.  The Lord has been making his mercy and forgiveness very real in my life. As a teenage girl who faces all the hard but normal things of life, it can seem overwhelming. I often mess up, and get frustrated when I do. The one thing I keep coming back to is that the Lord IS enough and He DIED for me. I can’t even comprehend it, and still struggle understanding it. I love the verse that says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8) What a precious gift that sadly, I tend to take for granted. He did not die because we were perfect and didn’t sin anymore, he died because He knew we needed a Savior to save us from our sins.  The Lord offers forgiveness to everybody, but often times, we ignore that precious gift, and sometimes try to “fix” it our own way. I can definitely say I have tr...
